It’s the stories about overcoming obstacles that are the ones worth telling. Ecover’s first factory was one enormous obstacle, which is why it still receives thousands of visitors from all over the world year after year! It’s getting more and more difficult to decipher one company from the next these days. At Ecover, we let our factories do the talking.
That’s our factory roof below. The sedum roof acts as insulation, minimizing the need for heating or cooling (not to mention acting as its own little ecosystem). And that long row of skylights is aligned directly with the path of the sun, which means the use of artificial lighting is reduced almost entirely. What you don’t see are the walls of the building-bricks made from recycled coal waste; and the interior roof made from renewable pine from sustainable forests. Also tucked inside is our very own water filtration system, and a load of beat-up boxes used to within an inch of their lives!
