There has been some surprising data that has surfaced recently in regards to baby food, insecticides, and drinking water. Unlike before, researchers have finally been able to collect some data on three different baby foods: pears, green beans and sweet potatoes. It was found that while sweet potatoes and pears are pretty clear, 9% of the green beans had levels of insecticides that are unacceptable. It is amazing that we would be thinking about feeding our children this.
In regards to insecticides, it was found that about 1 in every 10 of crop samples tested by the PDP had residues of imidacloprid, a common insecticide used to kill bees. Some fresh fruit and vegetable samples even contained residues of two nictoinyls.
Finally, it was found that 85% of finished drinking water contains an herbicide known to be a significant factor in causing reproductive problems, birth defects, and cancers. Also, 95% of this water also contains another herbicide linked to breast cancer and developmental abnormalities. With all of these insecticides and herbicides, make sure you think twice about what you purchase for your family to eat. Buy organic; it is the only way to safeguard your health.
